Kay Wood passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017. She was born 1928. Known in Wayne, PA as Kay Justus von Hausswolff, she attended Radnor High School in Radnor, PA then went on to Harcum Junior College in Bryn Mawr, PA. Kay met William R. Wood at Wack's Apothecary in Wayne and they were married on September 9, 1949. She is survived by her husband Bill, daughters; Garry Wood and Alex Wood Del Viscio (Nick) and her three grandchildren; Thomas Francis Cole III, Christoffer Wood Cole and William Sullivan Cole.
As the picture presents, Kay was a fun-loving gal. If you can't see it, that is a hoola hoop around her waist! Known for her beautifully decorated homes, elegantly prepared meals, and yearly New Year's Eve parties, Kay was the consummate host, homemaker and friend. She also had a unique talent for writing whimsical poems for friends and family.
Bill and Kay were married 67 years when she passed and had a gazillion friends, both young and old.
While her service will be private, written condolences are welcome and may be sent to William R. Wood, 136 Birdsong Way, Hilton Head, SC 29926.
